Red Bull with Roses, 2020
Anne Beinecke's billowing pulses of crimson reds and sap greens belie a more threatening substrata of heat and blood -- the existential threads that tie together the cruelty of animal exploitation, the callous violation of earth’s lush landscapes and the viral social injustices that poison our collective relationships. The pouring and splattering that initiates many of her paintings make way for the fragmented, bestrewn and ambiguous elements of Anne’s work. From that verdant morass, Anne employs a holistic approach to pull together light and shadow, image and impression, form and substance to evoke an unrestricted world that straddles the abstract and representational. The paint itself becomes a separate, sanguine entity with which she enters an abstract dialogue -- the literal push and pull, gushing and scraping, carving and scratching iwith pencil and ink into paper and canvas, a measure of an unstaunchable ruby-red life force. Anne’s paintings never shy from the fact that for all creatures the heart pumps red blood, whether in light or in mourning.
